Chapters 35. 36. and 37

So. I guess I was having a good day, so you lucky people got an extract three chapters.
Chapter Thirty-Five
Of course Dylan wasn't going to be angry at Alec, he's too reasonable to judge a situation before he knows the full story. I wanted Dylan to open up to Alec, and although he did a bit, Alec is aware that he doesn't know the full story of what went on between Dylan and Jayme- so that will be explored at some point.
Chapter Thirty-Six
I needed to have Dylan and Alec's family meet- so dinner seemed like the best option. I also can't wait to write about Alec's dad's work's charity dinner- I'm looking forward to it, much more than Alec is.
And chapter Thirty-Seven
Alec telling the school about his relationship with Dylan. I'll admit, I'm not 100% happy with this chapter, and it will need some serious work in re editing but for now it will do. I'm happy that they are both in a public relationship now, so that will be much more fun to write.

So I'm a little behind on updating this...

Right. So I completely forgot to update this, yet again. I'm hopeless.
Anyway, so chapter Thirty-Two. This chapter was all cute and cuddly and aww... I'm just in love with Dylan and Alec so much...
The purpose of this chapter was to really address the issue as to why Dylan told Alec he was gay right when they met. I know that a lot of you had been asking me this and said it was unrealistic and what not, but I hope this chapter helped you understand why Dylan told him when he did.
Chapter Thirty-Three. So Luke already figured out that Alec had been seeing Dylan. This chapter I really wanted Luke and Alec to show their relationship- although they might not be close, they do like each other and look out for each other, and from this point on wards their relationship will become a lot closer. In this chapter I also wanted to develop Luke's character a bit. I know some of you pictured him as some lazy, depressed teenager who hated the world etc. but he isn't. He's a really smart kid who just keeps his head down , who doesn't need to be popular and go out partying all the time. In a way he is sort of the opposite to Alec- although Alec doesn't feel the need to be popular and party all the time; that's just who he is.
Now, I know a lot of you saw the affair coming, and that actual act isn't something vital to the story- the aftermath is, and I can't wait to write that part of the story, so I'm not going to say any more about it!
And of course, chapter Thirty-Four... Alec expresses his fears and the appearance of Jayme. I loved writing this chapter so much, I knew right from the start how it would go! And I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist leaving it on a cliff-hanger. :)

So some of you guys have been reading this...

So I've noticed that some of you have been reading this blog.... yeah, the blog I completely forgot about! So I'm now updating it for you!
So, chapter twenty-eight/chapter twenty-nine. These chapters are where Dylan tells Mitch about his relationship with Alec and Alec decides to come out to his friends. I loved writing these chapters, simply because I thought that they really help with the characterisation for Sam, Matt, Mitch and Cam... I knew from the start that they would all accept Alec's relationship with Dylan, but I wanted each of their reactions to be different and suited to their personalities. Sam found out first, by himself because he is Alec's best friend. Matt is the more maturer one of the group and Cam... well he's unpredictable ;)
Mitch's reaction to Dylan telling him about his relationship with Alec is something that will be explored more as the story progresses... Mitch is very protective of Dylan, because Mitch was the one who was there during Dylan's relationship with Jayme, and he's seen a side to Dylan that no one else has... yet.

Chapter thirty. The double date. This was also fun to write, It was to get Alec to mingle more with Mitch and Sally. But also, there is that all important foreshadowing of the fortune cookies ;)

And of course, chapter thirty-one. The R rated chapter. This stuff is really difficult to right since I am a girl, but I enjoy reading it other peoples stories so of course I've got to write it for you guys! What I really try to do is make it more focused on the closeness of Dylan and Alec's relationship, and how at ease Alec is becoming with his sexuality, rather than just a crazy gay sex scene.

The writers block is officially gone, but these two weeks on the run up to Christmas are going to be crazy busy with school work, uni applications, christmas ball etc. SO I WILL TRY TO UPDATE ASAP! But on the plus side, the rest of my family are going away for the week after xmas... so I'll have lots of free time... time to update :)

Chapter 27

So chapter 27 eh? Well, it's the longest chapter I've written so far, that's for sure!
In this chapter I just wanted Dylan and Alec to spend some time together in a normal way, let you guys see them have a bit of fun, you know?
Unfortunately I can feel some writers block coming along.... OH NO *cries*
Hopefully I'll be able to get past it quickly and not let it affect me too much... I'm really liking the direction this story is headed right now, so stay with me, cause things are going to get a whole lot better!

Chapter 25 and 26...

So, I've updated the next two chapters of Detention Boys... one from Dylan's point of view and one from Alec's.
Chapter 25 was the chapter that I wanted everyone to see Dylan's relationship with his mother.I wanted to show that she is completely at ease with his homosexuality and that she accepts and loves him for who he is.
Chapter 26 was also showing a mother/son relationship... this time with Alec. You don't really get to know Alec's mother in the beginning of the story, therefore the comparison between the way Alec's mother is acting and the way she used to be is conveyed through the comparison that Alec makes inside of his own head.
Chapter 26's purpose is to also develop plot; this is done by the introduction of the mysterious guy outside Nando's. From this point on wards the story will begin to develop in terms of Alec and Dylan's relationship but also in story line as well.
I don't intend for Detention Boys to just be about Alec's growing feelings for Dylan... there is a lot more to it than that ;)

Hello world!

Ah. A blog. Me and blogs haven't had a great relationship in the past, but times are changing and I have a better feeling about this blog. It may not be a great feeling, but it is better. Not at bad feeling.
For those of you who may be reading this and thinking 'who is this' or 'why am I even reading this blog'? Well, to begin with, I am a Wattpad author, and I hope to someday be a published author.
So, for those of you who have stumbled across this blog either by mistake or sheer luck, my name is Jodie, and I go by the username jcharlotte1997 on www.wattpad.com.
My first story that I am in the process of writing is called 'Detention Boys'. Here's the lovely synopsis for you all:

“Alec, you’re drunk and confused. You don’t want this,” he said, but didn't try to move away. I could feel his breath on my lips, only a few inches separating our bodies. I looked up at him, the dim lighting making his eyes the deepest midnight blue, and he was staring down at me. “I don’t know what I want.” And then I kissed him.

Alec Brooke got a week's detention for a misunderstanding involving a fist and a face. There he met Dylan Lewis, an artistic, charming, outspoken guy with bleached blonde hair in serious need of a re-dye.A new friendship and a drunken night at a party changes everything Alec knows about himself.Dylan, however, upon seeing the changes in Alec feels the need to protect him. But Dylan has had his heart broken before, and he needs to decide whether or not he can risk it happening again.

It's a LGBT story centered around the characters Alec Brooke and Dylan Lewis. Check it out!

Now, for those of you lovely people who are reading this because you follow me on Wattpad... Hello there! I'm hopefully going to post a lot more on here about my process of writing 'Detention Boys' and about any other ideas I have, and what I'm planning on writing next etc.
But to begin with, I like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to you all for reading my story. The love and support means so much to me, sometimes it even brings a tear to my eye.
So yeah... This is my new blog.
